Bienvenue à la classe de français!
While I am originally from New Jersey, I have now lived in Virginia for more than 25 years. In fact, I married a Virginia boy, and we moved to King George in 2003. We have two children: our daughter attends King George High School, and our son attends Clemson University in South Carolina.
I am dual-national, French and American, since my mother is French and my father is American. I grew up making regular visits to family in France. I attended Tufts University in Massachusetts where I earned a B.A. with a major in French and certification to teach French. I spent a semester in Tours, France and a summer in Talloires, also in France. After my undergraduate studies, I then completed an M.Ed. in International and Overseas Educational Administration (with a track in ESL) from the College of New Jersey while teaching ESL at Berlitz in Princeton.
I taught French (and ESL) here in Virginia for 9 years before moving to King George, and then I taught French at KGHS (at what is now the Middle School) for the 2003-4 school year. I was able to spend a number of years at home with my children, which was wonderful. But I was extremely pleased to be able to return to teaching in the fall of 2012, again here at KGHS. More than ten years later, I continue to look forward to the start of each school year and meeting all of my students...so, I'll see you soon (À
bientôt!)
