Hints for Studying French
When studying a foreign language, memorization is key. To help you memorize:
- Make lists of new vocabulary and verb forms
- Make and use flashcards for vocabulary and verb forms
- Study lists and use flashcards every night
- Go back and review old material often to get it into long-term memory
Other techniques that will also help:
- Do your own homework
- Get help from a friend or teacher but make sure you really understand
- Listen to classmates' answers in class and try not to repeat their mistakes
- Review and correct old quizzes and tests so you understand your mistakes
- In class, don't zone out or fall asleep, don't write notes to friends, don't engage in conversation instead of doing classwork
- Remember that your teacher is always willing to help you, but also that you can help yourself, too, by acting and doing right
